Crochet Doilies

Hi !!!!

I am coming after a long time :) Reason being I have been making these crochet doilies... I am kind of hooked to crocheting now. Earlier it was just an hobby which I could take over whenever I got bored with my paintings or just to rejuvenate my mind to over come the creative block ...

But during these last few months I have taken up crochet very seriously.. I don't know why but after making few small doilies I started enjoying making them. I have learned to understand the graphs/diagrams of the design and its actually a huge accomplishment for me.

Every pattern that I come across kind of becomes a challenge for me & until and unless I am able to comprehend it completely I go on trying  the same.

In this series I have made few doilies which I would like to share it with you:)

These are all made from Red Heart mercerised cotton ....

I hope you will like them.

Rajasthani Miniature Paintings

Hi !!!

Hope all of you are doing well :)

Here in Delhi, thankfully its raining and the temperature has come down dramatically..

Today I am going to share with few paintings based on rajasthani folk art.. Even though madhubani is and has been very close to my heart, still I wanted to explore other traditional art forms. Earlier I had shared with you few Cheriyal Paintings, traditional art form of Telangana State.

In continuation to this today I am sharing with you Rajasthani Miniature Painting. This traditional art goes back to 15th century where it evolved in the Marwar -Mewar region. As the name suggests these are primarily done on small piece of cloth or paper with lot of detailing work.

Taking inspiration from Pinterest I have tried to recreate few of them...

These paintings are done on A5 size Brustro watercolour paper.. I  feel that if I invest more time on this I will get better with time.:))

Do you agree with me ? Let me know your thoughts ... & do share about any new crafts you have been learning..:))

Till next time stay home stay safe :)))

Clay Fridge Magnets

Hi !!

Hope you all are doing well....

Today I am going to share with you my clay project... This has been on my mind for quite some time but was not getting to do it..:))

So this time  I tried no cooking cold porcelain clay recipe from youtube... On the surface clay looked okay & soft but when I mixed colours in it the clay started getting dried up quickly... So I made the designs first and then used acrylic colours to colour it...... Next time I think I will go with my old cooking recipe of clay making....This is how it looks

The base is wooden coaster which I have used to make magnets... Hope you will like it...

Till next time stay home and stay safe and be creative :))))

More of my paintings.....

Hi !!!

Its very hot in Delhi... Light showers are also not helping either ((:...

Life has got more and more busy ... With cooking, cleaning, dusting, washing etc. I get very little time to do my crafty projects... There are lot of things which I want to learn & create but my everyday routine does not leave me with enough time to do the same...

It took me around 15-20 days to finish my madhubani painting of Tibetan Goddess Tara.. This is on a full size handmade paper ... Did lot of detailing work and tried to make it as colourful as possible.... The outcome is beautiful and I like it very much...

Tibetan paintings are very rich and decorative that is why I have used lot of gold in this painting...
They say that white Tara is symbol of peace love and patience & I hope that in the present scenario it turns out to be true...:))

Do let me know what you feel about the above... :))

My new experiments :))

Hi !!!

Hope you all are doing good...:)

We have been enjoying rains  since two days..... & the climate in Delhi has suddenly become more pleasant... From extreme hot weather it has now become more bearable... Hope it stays this way for few more days..:))

Today I am going to share my watercolour painting & some embroidery using bullion stitch.

Firstly lets talk about my watercolour creation... I love watercolour very much but somehow practising it everyday doesn't seem possible... And after a while when I paint I feel i have forgotten the minute details, the shading part dark side lighter side etc... So by the time I am done with my painting that sense of surety is somehow lacking ...

This is how it looks.... The drawing ref is from Pinterest... The original work is done in pencil shading which I have interpreted in watercolours. Hope you will like it .

Now coming to my embroidery.... I love it very much but its proving very taxing for my eyes....thats why nowadays I don't work much on needlework.. I am working on these designs for somebody who has asked me to make it for them.....

Do drop in with your views on the above.:))

Till next time #stayhome #staysafe #becreative  :))

My Meenakari paintings

Hello friends !!

Finally managed to find some blogging time........

It always feel good to come back here as I consider this as my personal space. Here not only do I get to share my artworks but also my journey to attain the same.....

Last time as I mentioned that due to fierce cold in Delhi I was unable to paint much... But had time to try something different. So I did these Meenakari paintings (traditional art form of Rajasthan). Its an ancients persian art of colouring and ornamenting metal surface with bright colours infused with intricate patterns. Embedded with kundan, meenas, colourfuls stones & gold work gave a royal look to these beautiful artifacts.

It took me quite long to complete these work but I am happy😃 with outcome.

Radha Krishna painting which I did using acrylic colours, gold outlines, gold chains, beads, meenas on canvas board. This is basically a kalamkari painting which I have portrayed in meenakari art form😀

This second one is of peacocks. This one is also done on canvas board butI have used glass gold outliner, glass colours & stones.

Hope you will like it.

Do let me know your opinion on the same...

Till next time take care & keep creating...😀

Crochet Doilies

Hi !!!

Time flies so fast...... It seems a while ago the we embraced year  2020 and already January has gone by & February has started..

We have been experiencing harsh cold weather for the last two months... Foggy weather, Chilly winds accompanied with heavy showers added to my agony 😂😂....You see I am not fond of tooo much cold... It actually hampers my productivity.. I feel like sleeping all the time with heater on of course.....😃😃

So on the creative side I have slowed down a bit... I didn't paint much but I managed to make few doilies.. The change was nice and I did started enjoying crocheting so much that I was able to add few more in my doily collections.

I have followed youtube instructions to make these doilies with few changes from my end...

I hope you will like them .....

I would love to hear from you....

Till next time keep creating & be happy...😊😊
