Ribbon Embroidery On Crochet Work

Hi !!!

Remember the crochet cover which i shared with  you in my last to last blog post. Well the plain panel in that cover looked toooooo plain to me. So, to uplift it, i have done ribbon embroidery on the plain panel. I have used ribbon stitch to make the flowers and for the center i have used french knot stitch. You can also affix bead  to highlight the center of the flower. For the leaves i have used leaf stitch. Since its my first attempt on ribbon embroidery, so i am going a bit slow. Once i am thru with this, i will show you the finished output.

Beaded Blooms

Hello friends !!!!

I had a wonderful Dusshera Break. My family & i had gone out on vacations. I hope u also enjoyed Durga Puja with ur family and friends.

I got hold of this lovely book on French Beading, by Carol Benner. By following very simple and easy steps this book takes you through various techniques of weaving beautiful flowers. This technique is referred to as the French Beading technique, whereby we use only wires and beads and create lovely blooms by just twisting them.Though on surface these flowers might look difficult to create, but believe me once you get acquainted with the technique, there is nothing simpler than this.

One can do various things with this beading craft. Like create jewellery, fashion accessories. Can also be combined with crochet to enhance the look and so on.

These are the few projects that i have learnt and created with the help of this book.

I hope you like them. Will try to  hunt for links on french beading, and will share it with you in next blog posts.

Have a nice day & Shubho Vijoya to everybody !!!!

Stocking/Nylon Flower Making

Hi !!!

Today i am going to share with u the steps to make stocking flowers.Stockings/Nylon flowers, as they call it is not only very easy to make but also another durable mode of filling up ur empty vases with beautiful blooms both seasonal & non-seasonal !

Material required
Stockings (color of ur choice),flower making wire, thick wire for stem, thread, green tape used for flower making

Steps
Make rings out of flower making wire. Size - small, medium&large.

Hv used candle molds to make the rings. These will be ur petals. U can use any empty can or containers to do the same.
Tie stockings on the ring with the help of thread. This part is a bit tricky, as u can't afford to hv rings having loosely tied stockings.
After ur rings / petals are ready, u need to make the center of the flower. For this step, u need to take a thick stem wire, and bend it a bit from one end.Tie a cotton ball on this end & cover it with nylon of same color as the flower is or any contrast color.

One can also use ready made pips available in any craft shop.
After this, arrange & tie the petals around the centre in ascending order i.e from smaller to bigger petals
Now u can start giving shape to the petals. For rose, u can bend the wire frm middle, oval, elongated for sunflower etc/
Finally, to give a finishing look, u need to cover it with green tape. U can also make leaves, following the same  steps. Ur flower r ready.

Hope this tutorial comes in handy to get u started in making nylon flowers.

Thank u for visiting!!!!

Have a nice day !!!!

M-seal face mask

Lately i hv been concentrating on M-seal art. Next in the series are these woman /man wall masks.

Method

1. I already had an old broken mask which i used to get the base for my mask. Tightly wrap  a polythene around the old mask and cover it with m-seal  clay.
2. Let it dry for a while. After that take it out frm the polythene. Now you have got the basic structure of face mask.
3. Then i made a long snake of m-seal & attached it from the top of the mask  till  the center. Then i painted the base & nose.
4. I also painted eyes, lips, mustache, hair accordingly using fevicryl acrylic colors.
5. For the stand on which the masks are hanging, hv used a simple ply, got it cut according to the design u see in the picture. This is entirely optional.
6. Hv decorated the ply with flowers & leaves made of leftover ceramic dough. This again depends on ur choice. U can also use m-seal for the same.
7. Lastly hv colored them with acrylic colors.

I hope this will give u some innovative ideas that u can try out with m-seal.

Thanks for hopping on my blog !!!!!!!!

Friendship Day

Hv made this parchment card to celebrate friendship day. This card is for all my friends who stood by me thru thick & thin and who hv been supportive of me at all times irrespective of the fact whether i was right or wrong. Today i also miss my school/college friends with whom i had shared a major portion of my life and with whom i hv lost touch. Hopefully, i will find them soon and will try to recreate the lost magic. That would be truely nostalgic.

Once again 'HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY" to every body .

Thanx for taking out time from ur busy schedules and visiting my blog !!!

M-seal pen stand

This is a pen stand which has been made of M-seal ( white). You can find it in any hardware shop or any craft store. One can also opt for Shilpkar from fevicryl. Its very easy to use. You just have to mix the white and the green portion and can mold it accordingly. You should use little bit of talcum powder to make it less sticky on hands. I personally find m-seal very convenient to use as one can do the molding and sticking simultaneously.

METHOD

1. To make this i have used an empty container as a base and covered it tightly with a polythene. This way m-seal doesn't stick to ur bottle  and u can take it out easily.
2 After that take small portion of m-seal and mix the white & green part completely.
3. Make long snakes and cover the container with it. Start from the center bottom of the container.
4. Once it dries off, your stand is ready. Take it out from the container.
5. Now paint it with acrylic colors of ur choice. You can also add cartoons/flowers etc to give it more volume.
Note : Always take out required amount of m-seal before u start working on it because m-seal dries off really fast. So u will end up wasting more rather than molding.

Hope you like this tutorial.
